Core Talent Games

If you haven't heard of Core Talent Games, it's time to go get familiar with them: http://www.coretalentgames.com/

They are attempting to reshape the way games are made. I sent an e-mail encouraging them in what they are attempting and received a very nice response from their COO, Robert Crandall.

Their website includes some very nice links and resources as well as a basic format for a game design submission, should you be interested.

I have been very busy lately with non-game related stuff, but will hopefully find the time to post a more substantive entry in the next couple of days.

If it's not too personal, I wouldn't mind reading this e-mail exchange.

It's not personal, I kind of assumed the response was "in good faith" if you know what I mean, but there is nothing bad in it so I'll just make it public. It's no big deal really:

Thank you, Andrew, for the very kind words!

I didn't see a reply go back out to you or not so I would just like to say that yes, it has been a tough slog in these troubled economic times but we are slowly getting some traction and meeting other people that feel the way we do. It is not that making a digital game is not like making a major software project (because obviously it has major elements of that) but rather that is like making a motion picture because it is the *creative elements* that will dominate the end result, and nurturing and caring for the creative element is what will ensure long term survival in this business.

Keep your fingers crossed for us and who knows, maybe we will be able to consider a design from you before too much longer!

Cheers,

Robert Crandall
COO, Core Talent Games Ltd.

This is not an inquiry, I just want to express to the people at Core Talent Games how much it means to me to see a company like yours taking on such risks in the face of so much adversity. You are truly onto something genius, and if I weren't currently in the military I would rush to put my dream game design on display. Learning about your company, I am reinvigorated to continue to develop what I believe to be a truly revolutionary game design in the hopes of one day finding a way to create it free from the stranglehold of thick corporate fingers.

I wish you the best of luck, hope that you will continue in the spirit of the way you have started, that you will grow and thrive, and that the industry will find yours to be the more agile and creative competitor. Hopefully, in a few years, if/when I am no longer in the military, I may find myself standing in front of you, briefing my game design. Who knows, maybe you will like it.

Thanks again
